Garment Care
- Here is a few key tips to help keep your purchases in good shape.
Hand Washing
- It's best to wash garments separately to avoid colour bleeding
- Avoid soaking the garment for too long
- Ensure soap or detergent is fully dissolved before washing garment
- To avoid crinkles or creases, gently squeeze or pat excess water out with a clean towel
Storage by fabric
- Leather and suede garments should be stored in a wardrobe that is well ventilated. Supple leather garments should be padded well with white tissue and fold flat.
- Rayon should also be stored flat. If you prefer to hang the garment then ensure it is padded pad with white tissue.
- Linen & cotton garments should be rolled. If you feel you must fold them, be sure to refold often to avoid fabric from becoming permanently creased.
- Knitted and silk fabrics should always be stored flat. If you must hang these garments, be sure to pad well with white tissue.
- Garments made of metallic fabric should be rolled with tissue paper separating each layer.
- Wool should be thoroughly cleaned, padded and wrapped in white tissue. Add mothballs to the storage area to prevent moth damage.
